Scrambled Eggs

Tune: John Lennon's and Paul McCartney's "Yesterday"

Scrambled eggs—
Food and Drug Administration regs
Took me down about a dozen pegs:
They banned the sale of scrambled eggs.

Nowadays,
Though they're selling eggs a thousand ways,
Coddled, Benedict or Milanaise,
It's "nix" to scrambled, nowadays.

You
May say, "Chin up!",
But my cup
Has bitter dregs;
Due
To that there law,
Vultures gnaw
My scrambled e-e-e-eggs.

Scrambled eggs:
Petty bureaucrats are such shmegeg's!
Notwithstanding that a Poet begs,
They've banned the sale of scrambled eggs.

Looks
Like I've been screwed
By a brood
Of hard-boiled yeggs:
Crooks
And thieves encroach
On, and poach
My scrambled e-e-e-eggs.

Scrambled eggs
Are a pleasure Uncle Sam reneges,
So I'm hoarding them in wooden kegs.
They banned the sale of scrambled eggs.
(No one bootlegs scrambled eggs.)
